France ferry breaks will offer the opportunity for art enthusiasts to see a brand new exhibition at the Musee des Impressionismes in Giverny next year.
The show, which has the title Impressionism along the Seine, will be launched on April 1st and will continue until July 18th.
People interested in attending can reach Giverny by catching ferries to Le Havre, which are available from Portsmouth with
LD Lines, and taking a short drive inland.
The exhibition will feature around 60 paintings of riverside scenes by Impressionist and Fauvist artists, as well as other figures associated with the movement started by the likes of Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Visitors can also take some time to explore the Musee des Impressionismes, which boasts a striking architectural style conceived by the Reichen and Robert agency.
Other attractions worth visiting in Giverny include Monet's home and garden and the American Art Museum.
Brittany Ferries operates a Portsmouth to Caen ferry route that offers easy access to the city, while
Condor Ferries offers a Portsmouth to Cherbourg ferry service.
People coming from Ireland can take ferries to Cherbourg from Rosslare with
Irish Ferries or Celtic Link.
