Holidaymakers should remember to pack their bicycles before setting off on Isle of Wight ferry breaks this month to take part in the island's Cycling Festival.
The event, which provides routes and activities to suit people of all ages and abilities, will run from September 19th to 27th.
Wightlink offers quick and easy access to the Isle of Wight with its ferries to Fishbourne and Ryde from Portsmouth.
All sorts of cycling routes are opened up during the festival, from short rides through villages and seafront settings to the epic Cycle the Wight, a 70-mile road course that takes in all of the island's scenic coastline.
The festivities begin in Newport with a day of family entertainment that includes the Sink or Swim event, which sees participants attempting to cross the Medina river in homemade crafts without getting wet.
In addition to its Isle of Wight ferry services from Portsmouth,
Wightlink provides ferries to Yarmouth from Lymington.
Hovertravel offers regular daily connections to the port of Ryde on the Isle of Wight from Southsea.
