Ferries to France will be carrying crowds of music fans across the English Channel this summer ahead of the Vannes Jazz Festival.
This highly popular event will be held in the picturesque town of Vannes in the Morbihan department of Brittany from July 27th to August 1st.
People interested in visiting this year can travel on
Brittany Ferries' Portsmouth to St Malo ferry route and head south-west to Brittany's Atlantic coast.
The festival has been a cultural tradition in Vannes since 1980, hosting acts such as the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many others over the years.
Celebrating its 30th outing this year, the Vannes Jazz Festival will kick off on July 27th with a free opening party on the town's esplanade.
Other highlights will include a performance by the Ronan Pinc jazz quartet on Place Theodore Decker on July 29th and a Latin jazz night at Jardin de Limur on August 1st.
Brittany Ferries also operates a Plymouth to Roscoff ferry route that could prove popular with jazz fans heading to the festival this year, while LD Lines offers ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth.
