There will be plenty of opportunities for people on Isle of Wight ferry breaks to get active later this year when the island hosts its annual Walking Festival.
The event will run from May 8th to 23rd and is set to attract over 20,000 visitors to the Isle of Wight.
People who would like to attend the festival can take ferries to Fishbourne or Ryde, which are provided by
Wightlink from Portsmouth.
The Isle of Wight boasts over 500 miles of signposted footpaths that take in around 30 miles of coastline.
Approximately 300 routes will be available during the 2010 Walking Festival, covering various themes and offering activities for people of all ages and abilities.
Founded in 1999, the event has steadily grown to the point that it featured a record 270 walks and welcomed 24,500 participants in 2008.
There will be many other fairs and events for people on Isle of Wight ferry breaks to attend this year, such as the Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival in June.
Wightlink operates ferries to Yarmouth from Lymington, while
Hovertravel provides a service linking Southsea to Ryde.
