People travelling on
ferries to Ireland will find there is plenty of top quality accommodation waiting for them at their destination, an expert reveals.
John Lahiffe, publicity manager at Tourism Ireland, explained that hoteliers and restaurants have had to respond to the financial climate to make their offerings more appealing.
Mr Lahiffe emphasised that the market has realised that people still want to go on holidays, so has therefore lowered its prices to ensure they can continued to do so.
"You can stay in a five-star castle in Ireland - you might think that's not cheap, but it's a hell of a lot less than you would have paid years ago," he continued.
Accommodation in Ireland is currently among the cheapest in Europe, the expert noted, while restaurants are also doing their bit to draw in the customers.
This is achieved through early bird deals, two-for-one offers and other incentives, Mr Lahiffe added.
