"Great conditions" in Tignes

Excellent snow conditions have been reported in the Alpine resort of Tignes, people planning ski holidays in France will be happy to hear.

According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, Tignes is one of the many glacier resorts in Europe to be enjoying good conditions for skiing, with the likes of Val Senales, Zermatt and Hintertux all blanketed in fresh snow.

Winter sports enthusiasts will soon be setting off on their ski holidays around Europe as the season gets underway and resorts begin to open their slopes.

Tignes, which is located near Val d'Isere in the Espace Killy region of France, is one of the country's most popular ski holiday resorts.

One of the resort's main skiing areas – the Grande Motte glacier – has been open since the end of September, offering a number of runs for beginners as well as more experienced skiers.

The glacier is also accessible to pedestrians and tours are available which take in the area's main sights.
