Guernsey ferry crossings are proving a popular travel option this year, a spokesman for the island's tourist board has revealed.
Chris Elliott, director of marketing and tourism at VisitGuernsey, said that figures covering arrivals by sea are "particularly promising", with double-digit increases in passenger traffic compared to last year.
People heading to the Channel Islands from southern England can travel with
Condor Ferries, which provides ferries to Guernsey from Portsmouth, Weymouth and Poole.
Upon arrival on the island, holidaymakers can experience its diverse range of attractions and experiences, which were highlighted by Mr Elliott.
"Guernsey is perfect for main family holidays and stylish short breaks alike: it's a charming . and easily accessible destination, where high standards and no currency exchange requirements mean that it offers a winning combination of quality and value for money," he said.
"Food is exquisite, there are some excellent museums to take in and from lazy days on the island's beautiful beaches to exploring the rural interior, there's an extraordinary range of things to [do]."
Condor Ferries also provides the option of combining a Channel Islands break with a trip to France, offering regular
ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo via Guernsey and Jersey.
