Brits planning winter ski holidays in Meribel in the near future will not be the only visitors enjoying the fashionable resort after it was reported that Harry Potter star Emma Watson has bought a luxury chalet there.
Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, has spent £1 million on her new pad after receiving access to a £10 million fortune when she turned 18.
The actress is reportedly a keen skier and decided to splash out on the chalet to celebrate finishing her A-level exams.
A friend of the star said: "The house is Emma's way of celebrating her recent straight As at A-level and finally getting her hands on some of her hard-earned cash.
"She worked really hard this year and didn't have much of a birthday party so this was her present to herself."
The resort of Meribel is located at the heart of France's Three Valleys, the world's biggest ski area with 375 miles of groomed slopes.
Brits who choose to head to Meribel for their self-drive ski holidays to France will be able to explore 94 miles of groomed ski runs and 17 miles of itineraries, as well as more than 70 runs ranging in difficulty from green to black.
