Modern art enthusiasts will be catching ferries to Amsterdam this spring to attend a major showcase event being held in the city.
Art Amsterdam will take place from May 13th to 17th at the RAI centre and will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year with 120 solo exhibitions dedicated to various artists.
The Dutch capital's major galleries will be represented at the event, showcasing the latest developments in contemporary art through paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations and other works.
More than 30 galleries from overseas will also participate in Art Amsterdam, including institutions from Great Britain, Germany, France, South Africa and Japan.
Ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam are provided by DFDS Seaways on a daily basis, with departures from the British port at 17:00.
Travellers can also catch
ferries from Hull to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries or sail from Harwich to Hook of Holland with Stena Line.
From June 14th to 21st this year, Amsterdam will host the Roots Festival, an event dedicated to music from around the world.
