Travellers planning to catch ferries to France in October will have the opportunity to visit Brittany to enjoy some unique music concerts.
The Lanvellec Festival, a celebration of Baroque music, will be held in Lanvellec and several other destinations in Brittany from October 10th to 25th.
Celebrating its 23rd edition this year, the festival will focus on the works of Henry Purcell, a composer who developed a characteristically English style of Baroque music.
People interested in attending some of the concerts can reach north-west France by catching ferries to St Malo from Portsmouth or using the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry route provided by
Brittany Ferries.
Performances will take place at venues such as the Chateau de Rosambo in Lanvellec, Saint-Brieuc Cathedral and the Carre Magique in Lannion.
To complement the concerts, Lanvellec will host events including a food market, trade demonstrations and a parade featuring hundreds of revellers in period costume.
Other travel options for people planning to visit France include the Rosslare to Roscoff ferry service provided by
Irish Ferries and
LD Lines' ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth.
