Travellers looking for a holiday destination that allows them to enjoy spring in all its natural glory have been encouraged to pay a visit to Holland.
Writing in his blog for P&O Ferries, Peter Moore described the European country as "the perfect destination to properly appreciate nature and its rainbow of colours".
One of the attractions that travellers can visit in Holland is the Keukenhof garden in the small southern town of Lisse, which is open to the public between the months of March and May.
Around seven million bulbs are planted at Keukenhof every year, meaning it is one of the largest flower gardens in the world.
People interested in visiting the attraction can catch
ferries from Hull to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries and drive through Holland to reach Lisse.
Another option for nature lovers is to travel on
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam with DFDS Seaways and visit the capital's Tulip Museum, which boasts exhibits including interactive video displays telling the story of the tulip.
