Holland to play Sweden in Amsterdam

Holland's national football side will play Sweden in a friendly match in Amsterdam this month, providing some top quality entertainment for people planning ferry trips to the city.

The game will take place on November 19th at the Amsterdam Arena, the home of leading Dutch side Ajax, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45.

Both of these sides boast a number of international stars who play for some of the world's most famous clubs, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Inter Milan, Dirk Kuyt of Liverpool and Wesley Sneijder of Real Madrid.

Visitors to the Dutch capital can catch a number of top football matches at the Amsterdam Arena over the coming months.

Ajax will face one of their rivals for the league title, PSV Eindhoven, on November 16th before playing a Uefa Cup match against Slavia Prague on December 17th.

Ferry crossings to Amsterdam are available with DFDS Seaways, which sails from Newcastle to IJmuiden on a daily basis.

P&O Ferries operates a service from Hull to Rotterdam, while Stena Line sails from Harwich to Hook of Holland.
