Hop on cheap ferries to the White Air festival | | | | 22 August 2008 | Fans of extreme sports will be tempted to catch cheap ferries to the Isle of Wight next month for the White Air festival.
This event, set to take place from September 19th-21st, will incorporate water, beach, urban, air and land sports, as well as a live music stage.
Some 500 competitors from more than 40 countries will be involved in various events, while festivalgoers will be able to get stuck in as well, with 21 'have a go' public sports on offer.
The music headliners at this year's festival will be Pigeon Detectives, with other names on the bill including Sam Isaac and DJ Rob da Bank.
Another highlight of White Air 2008 will be an appearance by pilots from the Red Arrows, who will answer questions and sign memorabilia.
One of the most popular ways of travelling to the festival is likely to be with Wightlink, as the company is offering discounts on ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight.
Wightlink sails from Lymington to Yarmouth and from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde. |
