Irish Ferries congratulates Dublin on Unesco award

Irish Ferries congratulates Dublin on Unesco award
Irish Ferries has offered its congratulations to Dublin for being named an official Unesco City of Literature.

The UN organisation awarded the title to the Irish capital to recognise its links to writers such as James Joyce, Oscar Wilde and Sean O'Casey.

Dublin is one of four destinations around the world that was recently honoured with Unesco City of Literature status.

Travellers can learn more about the Irish capital's associations with celebrated literary figures by taking ferries from Holyhead to Dublin.

Irish Ferries pointed out that passengers on its Ulysses vessel can enjoy a drink in Leopold Bloom's Bar or take a walking tour around the ship before arriving at their destination.

The company also operates crossings on the route using the Dublin Swift - which is named after Gulliver's Travels author Jonathan Swift - and the Oscar Wilde.

Stena Line provides access to Ireland with regular ferries from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire and Dublin, as well as a service between Fishguard and Rosslare.
