Irish Ferries has revealed that it is participating in a campaign to attract more people to the ferry travel sector.
The initiative has been arranged by the Passenger Shipping Association and involves a number of ferry companies that operate in the UK and Ireland, including P&O Ferries and
Stena Line.
One of the central elements of the project is the "top ten reasons to travel by ferry", including the customer benefits that will result from the millions of pounds worth of investment in new vessels and more efficient sailings.
Travellers will also be informed of the savings they can make through special offers being launched by ferry operators.
Developments in the industry mean that ferry travel is now "on the verge of another renaissance", according to Declan Mescall, head of passenger sales for Irish Ferries.
The operator provides a number of options for people planning to set off on their holiday by sea, with regular
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and from Rosslare to Cherbourg and Roscoff in France.
