Irish Ferries holds £59 lowest-ever fare for autumn/winter |  | | | 21 August 2008 | | Source: Irish Ferries | Despite rising fuel costs, Irish Ferries, the low fares ferry company, has announced that, for the autumn and winter, it will again be offering a GBP59 one-way fare to Ireland.
This fare - for car and driver - guarantees no hidden extras as all taxes and fuel charges are included.
The move yet again highlights benefits that travellers can enjoy when choosing ferry travel to Ireland when compared with flights which come complete with punitive fuel surcharges, baggage charges, check-in charges etc.
Said Declan Mescall, Irish Ferries' head of passenger sales: "We've taken the decision to absorb the extra fuel costs so that we can continue to be `the low fares ferry company.
"And we'll also continue to bang the drum about the other benefits of self-drive travel by ferry.leisurely check-in times of just 30 minutes, no baggage restrictions or charges and space to relax, stretch the legs and enjoy the experience of Europe's most modern ferries.'
The £59 lead-in fare is available on the Pembroke/Rosslare service when booked online at least 28 days before travel for the period 1 October - 20 December 2008. Lead-in fare between 27 August and 30 September is £89. A small supplement applies for the Holyhead/Dublin service.
