Irish Ferries has revealed that it has "opened the door" for 2010 bookings by introducing discounts and early booking offers on its ferries to France, Ireland and the UK.
As part of a campaign entitled the French Revolution, the company announced that it will be offering price reductions of up to 28 per cent on services to France for passengers who book soon.
Travellers have the option of taking ferries to Roscoff or Cherbourg from Rosslare with
Irish Ferries to visit the Brittany and Normandy regions of France.
The operator also revealed that savings of up to 30 per cent will be available to customers who make early bookings on the Pembroke to Rosslare and Holyhead to Dublin ferry routes.
Announcing the promotions, Declan Mescall, head of passenger sales at
Irish Ferries, said the past year has brought a "noticeable drift" away from airlines and towards ferry travel as passengers seek an alternative to airport congestion and baggage restrictions.
Travellers planning to visit Ireland also have the option of taking ferries to Rosslare from Fishguard with
Stena Line or using the Liverpool to Dublin ferry route served by P&O Ferries and
Norfolkline Irish Sea.
