Irish Ferries will be marking a milestone this month when it celebrates 30 years of providing
ferries from Pembroke to Rosslare.
The ferry operator said that the 30th anniversary of its link with Pembroke on May 22nd will highlight the important role that the Welsh port plays in its route network.
Pembroke ferry terminal was first brought into operation in 1978 and hosted its first service provided by Irish Ferries - then known as the B&I Line - the following year.
The largest ship ever to sail from Pembroke, Isle of Inishmore, was introduced by Irish Ferries in 2001 and continues to carry passengers on
ferries from Pembroke to Rosslare today.
Tony Kelly, Irish Ferries' marketing director, said: "The predictability of Irish Ferries' Pembroke to Rosslare service, along with the quality of service and a reputation for good value, has provided an excellent gateway for tourism and freight interests right across from the south-east of England to the south-west of Ireland."
The operator also provides
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin, as well as links to Roscoff and Cherbourg in France from Rosslare.
