Irish Ferries offers transport to top festivals

Various festivals take place in Ireland all year round, and the coming months are certainly no exception. Irish Ferries is able to transport festival-goers to their event of choice with comfort and convenience, leaving tourists to ponder which one to choose.

One option is the Wexford Festival Opera, which will run from October 21st-November 5th and includes Donizetti's Gianna di Parigi and music by Schubert. One of the most popular events of the festival is the Gala Concert, which is being held on October 26th. The concert features a range of popular party pieces as well as some more unexpected numbers, with proceeds supporting the Wexford Festival Opera.

Food fanatics, on the other hand, may want to think about heading to the Listowel Food Festival in County Kerry, which lays claim to being the longest running of its kind in Ireland. This year's festivities will take place from November 2nd-6th, where a wealth of top quality produce is available to sample and take home. Irish TV chef Catherine Fulvio of Ballyknocken House is also expected to make an appearance at the event.

If music is more appealing, the Ennis Trad Festival is just the place to visit. Between November 14th and 19th, bars throughout the area will be hosting live bands that are sure to get people's toes tapping. Highlights of this year's programme include appearances from Peter Browne, Michelle O'Brien and Arty McGlynn. A number of top acts will be using the festival as an opportunity to launch their latest CDs.

There are various ways to get to these festivals, such as by catching ferries from Pembroke to Rosslare. Irish Ferries provides up to two crossings per day, which take around four hours to complete. Alternatively, ferries from Holyhead to Dublin depart up to four times a day.
