Irish Ferries has announced plans for a pre-Christmas mini-cruise to France for people looking to stock up on wine and food for the festive season.
The company will sail from Rosslare to Roscoff on September 11th, returning to the Irish port on the morning of September 13th.
Wine expert and writer Martin Moran will take part in the trip and act as an escort for travellers, conducting a wine tasting session on board the ferry and previewing some of the wines that can be bought ashore.
The trip, which has been scheduled to coincide with France's season of autumn wine sales, will give passengers the opportunity to spend six hours ashore in Roscoff or nearby Morlaix.
Irish Ferries sails out of two ports in Ireland, Dublin and Rosslare, to Holyhead and Pembroke in Wales and Cherbourg and Roscoff in France.
One of its vessels is the Ulysses, the world's largest car ferry, which travels from Holyhead to Dublin in three hours 15 minutes.
