Irish Ferries has celebrated its status as Ireland's best ferry company following a recent awards ceremony.
The company's win at this year's Irish Travel Trade News event represents the 11th time it has been named the best provider of ferry services to Ireland in the history of the awards scheme.
It previously picked up the accolade in eight successive years between 1997 and 2004, with the other two wins coming in 1995 and 2007.
Irish Ferries suggested that a number of recent developments may have "swung the vote" in its favour, including the launch of the new cruise ferry Oscar Wilde on its routes from Rosslare to Cherbourg and Roscoff.
The operator also improved its offering to ferry travellers recently with the addition of a club class option on its Irish Sea services.
It was announced earlier this month that
Irish Ferries will be offering savings of up to 52 per cent on its Pembroke to Rosslare and Holyhead to Dublin ferry crossings for travel between January 31st and April 2nd.
