There are just ten days to go until the start of the Isle of Wight Spring Garden Show, which may tempt many horticulture fans to catch
ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth.
Running from April 28th-29th from 10:00 BST to 17:00 BST, the event in Robin Hill Park near Newport includes a wide cast of exhibitors, with a number of competitions taking place.
These include the
Wightlink Floral Trophy, the flower arranging competition (which this year is based on the Olympics), a master chef competition for budding culinary geniuses and a children's competition to make celebrity scarecrows.
Of course, not everybody is so interested in gardening, but the show is not the only event taking place in Robin Hill Park that may draw visitors across from the mainland by ferry in the coming months.
Bestival is the last major musical festival of the summer season before it all gets too cold to camp, with the vent taking place in the park this year between September 6th and 9th.
