People who have taken ferry trips with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company in the past may be interested to hear of the operator's recent donation of £500 to the Rebecca House Hospice.
Rebecca House is part of Hospice Isle of Man and provides care for children up to 18 years of age who have serious illnesses.
Staff at the hospice currently look after 19 children and also provide outreach services for children at home.
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, said: "Rebecca House provides vital respite and care to the island's children and we are pleased to have been able to show our support for such a worthwhile cause."
Mary Doyle, Hospice Care PR and marketing manager, thanked the ferry operator on behalf of Rebecca House for its donation.
The Steam Packet Company recently gave away a £1,000 prize to the winner of a competition to decide the name of its new vessel.
Travellers can catch cheap ferries with the company to the Isle of Man port of Douglas from Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool and Heysham.
