Manannan, the
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's new ferry, recently played host to the island's largest and oldest Rotary Club.
Members of the Douglas Rotary Club were given a special tour of the ship, which is used to operate the Steam Packet Company's Isle of Man to Liverpool ferry service.
Sharon Kissack, chairman of the club's House and Fellowship Committee, said that the organisation is "very aware" of the contribution that the ferry operator makes to the economy of the Isle of Man.
She added: "The arrival of a new addition to the Steam Packet Company fleet has always been an occasion of great interest to Manx people and the Manannan's arrival has been particularly anticipated by many."
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the ferry company, said: "I am delighted with the success of the visit and the huge amount of interest our new vessel has generated within the community."
In addition to its Liverpool and Heysham ferry services, the
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company operates ferries to Dublin and Belfast from Douglas.
