Passengers with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company helped to raise £10,000 to provide medical and rescue equipment that is used around the island's TT race circuit.
The donations to the Rob Vine Fund were collected onboard the ferry company's ships during the TT race period.
Dr David Stevens MBE, chief medical officer for the TT races, explained that the initiative to ask passengers to donate money to the charity was started many years ago by Tommy Harrison, a Steam Packet Company first officer.
He added: "I cannot speak highly enough of the magnificent corporate effort put in by so many Steam Packet Company employees, helping to relieve eager passengers of their loose change!
"This donation is an excellent example of a company, involved locally, putting something back into the community, and what could be more appropriate than helping ensure the excellence of medical equipment in the road racing capital of the world."
The £10,000 raised for the Rob Vine Fund will be used for improvements to equipment used on the TT course including two helicopters and two frontline ambulances.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company offers ferry crossings to Douglas from Heysham, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin.
