Isle of Man to host jazz festival |  | | | 27 August 2008 | Jazz lovers should hop on cheap ferries to the Isle of Man next month if they want to celebrate their passion for the popular musical genre with like-minded people.
The Isle of Man International Jazz Festival will be held at the Hilton hotel in Douglas from September 19th to 21st.
Presented by the Manx Jazz Club, this event will feature a number of leading professional musicians and jazz bands playing in two separate rooms on each evening.
Many of the numerous sub-genres of jazz will be celebrated at the festival, from mainstream and traditional to modern experimental styles.
The Isle of Man is located in the Irish Sea, some 83 miles from Liverpool and 90 miles from Belfast, and is often a popular location for people taking trips on cheap ferries owing to its picturesque landscapes and rambling routes.
Ferry crossings to the island are provided by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company from Liverpool, Larne, Heysham, Belfast and Dublin. |
