Isle of Wight Cycling Festival underway | | | | 15 September 2008 | People currently enjoying holidays on the Isle of Wight, or people with ferry crossings to the island booked over the next week, should be sure to take advantage of the range of events organised for this year's Cycling Festival.
The festival got underway at Seaclose Park in Newport on September 13th and will run until September 21st.
Over the course of the nine-day festival, there will be 44 rides and activities taking place around the Isle of Wight.
The event is not reserved purely for cycling enthusiasts, however, as there are activities and routes that combine a bike ride with opportunities to discover more about the island's dinosaur heritage.
Families will also be able to make use of a grading system that makes it easy for participants to identify the most suitable rides for their capabilities.
Holidaymakers with ferry crossings scheduled before September 21st will be able to take part in Cycle the Wight, an event planned for the last day of the festival which incorporates a number of routes that take in the island's stunning coastline. |
