Isle of Wight arranges kids' shows for half-term |  | | | 11 September 2008 | The Isle of Wight tourism industry has announced a number of arrangements to ensure that families planning ferry crossings to the island for the October half-term will have no problem entertaining their children.
Among the highlights of the events arranged for half-term is Wizard Week, which will run from October 26th to November 2nd and be hosted by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway near Ryde.
This event will include appearances by clowns, magic shows and live bats from the Isle of Wight Bat Hospital.
Blackgang Chine, the amusement park on the south-west coast of the Isle of Wight, will also be getting into the mood on October 31st with a wizards and witches day out on October 31st.
This occasion will include games, activities and prizes being handed out to all those in fancy dress.
Other highlights will include an event at Needles Old Battery in Alum Bay looking at what it was like to be a child during World War II and a number of activities organised for the Big Draw, a festival promoting the value of drawing and art. |
