Isle of Wight ferry breaks could prove popular among cycling enthusiasts next month, with a festival celebrating the sport set to return to the island.
The Isle of Wight Cycling Festival 2010 will run from September 18th to 26th, providing plenty of opportunities for travellers to see some of the island's most spectacular scenery while having fun and keeping fit.
A range of routes will be available, from relaxed tours of pretty villages to the 'cycle the Wight' course, which covers a distance of 70 miles and takes in the island's scenic coastline.
Wightlink, one of the sponsors of the festival, provides easy access to the Isle of Wight via regular
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde.
A number of special events feature on the programme, including a teddy bears picnic at Nettlecombe Farm on September 19th.
Visitors will also be able to check out a classic car show on September 18th, which will feature an impressive collection of vintage vehicles.
Wightlink provides
ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth alongside its Portsmouth services, while
Hovertravel offers speedy crossings from Southsea to Ryde.
