Fans of the popular pianist and television presenter Jools Holland will be setting off on ferry trips to Holland next year to see him perform in Amsterdam.
Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will perform at the Dutch capital's Paradiso venue on April 3rd as part of a spring tour that will feature Welsh singer and guitarist Dave Edmunds as a special guest.
The Amsterdam show is not the only gig that ferry travellers will get the chance to see, as the tour will also come to the Stadsschouwburg venue in Bruges, Belgium on April 2nd.
As one of Amsterdam's major music venues, the Paradiso will host a number of concerts over the first few months of 2009, including a gig by blues singer Seasick Steve on February 13th.
Franz Ferdinand, Grace Jones and Presidents of the USA will be among the visitors to the Paradiso in March.
Music fans interested in seeing any of these gigs can sail directly from Newcastle to Amsterdam with DFDS Seaways.
Holland ferry services are also available with P&O Ferries, which sails from Hull to Rotterdam, and Stena Line, which operates a route from Harwich to Hook of Holland.
