Kelly Brook was on hand to celebrate the launch of new
ferries from Dover to Calais on Friday (February 17th).
The Kent-born model and TV presenter posed in a nautical outfit as the new service from
DFDS Seaways and
LD Lines embarked on its maiden voyage to France.
Joined by senior vice-president of DFDS Seaways Carsten Jensen to cut the ribbon, Brook watched from the dockside as The Norman Spirit set sail for Calais at about 13:00 GMT.
DFDS Seaways plans to offer just one ship on the cross-Channel route initially, but has pledged to add a second vessel in the future.
Chris Newey, passenger director at DFDS, told BBC News that 150 new employees have been recruited so far and another 150 could be taken on at a later date.
The service will operate in direct competition with
P&O Ferries, which has also started to offer a crossing between Dover and Calais this month.
