Travellers planning to take
ferries from Dover to Boulogne with
LD Lines this year will be able to choose from a wider range of services when the company adds a second ship to the route.
It was announced that the Norman Trader will be introduced to the service on May 29th, increasing frequency from the current eight daily sailings to up to 14.
Both vessels have the space to carry as many as 400 passengers, 130 cars and 40 freight vehicles.
Christophe Santoni, managing director of LD Lines, said: "The introduction of a second ship to the Dover-Boulogne route reflects our determination to develop and establish the service.
"The increased frequency and capacity we can now provide will undoubtedly appeal to and meet the demands of both freight and tourist cross channel customers."
Travellers on LD Lines' ferries from Dover to Boulogne will be able to make use of facilities including a self-service restaurant, bars and retail outlets selling a range of products.
The onboard lounges will offer 96 reclining seats, allowing passengers to relax during their journey.
LD Lines also offers
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre in northern France.
