Larvik ready for new Color Line vessel
SSG-TONSBERG.
The Port of Larvik is on schedule to meet the challenge of
Color Line Superspeed, the new fast ropax service between Norway and Denmark.
When the service begins sailings from Larvik in April, 2008,
the new terminal facilities, including a new ramp, will be in place. The Port of Larvik will invest NOK 300 million, while Color Line is footing the NOK 50 million terminal bulding bill.
Color Line Superspeed will traffic routes from Kristiansand to Hirtshals from December, 2007, and from Larvik to Frederikshavn in April, the following year.
The new terminal in Larvik is moving from the centre of town to the port area at Revet.
New proposals have just passed board level and they may also include a facility to cater for the Nor-Lines coastal/North Sea service.
