Liverpool has been voted the best city for group travel in a travel magazine reader poll.
Group Leisure magazine's annual awards recognised the city as the best place to visit, a title based on its facilities and attractions.
The publication's editor Rob Yandell commented: "With more choice than ever before when it comes to arranging group trips and holidays, what better endorsement is there than a personal recommendation from group travel organisers?"
Visitors catching
ferries from Dublin to Liverpool can enjoy a wide range of places of interest and entertainment in the city, as well as major annual events such as the Grand National.
Art Lovers can visit the Tate Northern, football fans can go to the Liverpool FC Museum and the new Museum of Liverpool has 6,000 artefacts covering a wide range of aspects of life and culture in the city.
These vary from its social history to the actual stage where Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met.
