Major music festival to be held in Brest | | | | 20 October 2008 | Music fans will soon be hopping on ferry crossings to Brittany from the UK for this year's Transmusicales festival.
This event, which this year will be held from December 3rd to 6th, is one of the biggest music festivals in France and has built up a reputation of hosting major artists while also showcasing new talent.
As it takes place in the winter, the festival presents concerts in indoor venues all around Brest rather than taking the usual approach of setting up outdoor tents in a single location.
The line-up for this year's festival includes the likes of Cage the Elephant and Iglu & Hartly, who have recently been enjoying growing attention and radio airtime in the UK.
In recent years Transmusicales has seen performances by major international artists including the Fugees, Beastie Boys, the Undertones, Primal Scream, Razorlight and Klaxons.
Brittany Ferries provides regular ferry crossings to the ports of Roscoff and St Malo from Plymouth and Portsmouth respectively, while Irish Ferries sails to Roscoff from Rosslare. |
