People planning to take ferries to the Isle of Wight for Cowes Week this year have been informed of some of the "must-do" activities and experiences on offer at the event.
Organisers of the sailing festival, which will run from July 31st to August 7th, encouraged holidaymakers to visit the Cowes Yacht Haven to book a spot on a racing vessel or take a powerboat ride.
Members of the public can also sign up for sailing lessons with qualified instructors if they want to head out on the water themselves.
Wightlink is one of the main providers of sea crossings to the Isle of Wight, offering regular
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde.
Travellers planning to visit the island during Cowes Week will also have the opportunity to see a rescue demonstration by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution on August 2nd.
A new addition to the festival this year is the farmers' market, which will showcase a variety of local products at Peppermint Shepherds Wharf Marina on July 31st, August 1st and August 7th.
Wightlink also operates
ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, while
Hovertravel offers a service from Southsea to Ryde.
