People catching
ferries to the Isle of Man with the Steam Packet Company have been reminded that the normal ship will not be running between April 16th and May 5th.
The company has stated that the Ben-my-Chree ferry will be in dry dock during this period for biannual maintenance.
Chief executive of the firm Mark Woodward commented: "After the busy Easter period, the Ben will enter dry dock on Monday, April 16th and come out on Saturday May 5 for post-dock sea trials."
She should then make her first scheduled sailing on May 6th, he added.
Mr Woodward noted that the timing of the work had been established in January and because of this advance notice the firm has been able to charter a freighter from
Northlink Ferries.
And the Manannan will cover the car and passenger services between the island and Heysham, Liverpool and Ireland.
On April 1st, Manannan undertook its annual round-the-island cruise, enabling passengers to enjoy the Manx coastal scenery in its entirety.
