Manannan, the new vessel that the Steam Packet Company is using to provide Isle of Man ferry services, has reportedly been hailed as a success by passengers and a shipping journalist.
According to the Steam Packet Company, Manannan has impressed passengers since she began operating on the Isle of Man to Liverpool ferry route on May 22nd.
Customers have made use of the ship's "bright, spacious accommodation" and facilities such as a large bar area, a cafe and two cinema lounges, the operator revealed.
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, said: "I am pleased to say that, based on the feedback that has been received, our expectations for Manannan have been justified.
"Our £20 million investment in Manannan is a clear demonstration of our commitment to providing the Isle of Man with a high-quality fast craft service. As the busiest time of the TT period approaches, we look forward to welcoming more passengers onboard to share the Manannan experience."
The Steam Packet Company revealed earlier this year that the arrival of Manannan would enable it to be "self-sufficient" in its provision of Isle of Man ferry services for the 2009 TT motorcycle competition.
