Ferry travellers planning visits to Scotland this year may be interested in a series of walking routes that have been put together by the country's tourist board.
VisitScotland has designed ten new walks which all have a culinary theme, taking in everything from fish and chip shops and gastro pubs to luxury restaurants.
The routes will be posted on February 2nd on EatScotland, the tourist board's official site for food and drink-related events, and will span the country, providing options for people of all ages and abilities.
Holidaymakers will be able to explore Argyll's Scottish seafood trail and take in views spanning the peninsula between Kintyre and Arran, stretching to the hills of Jura on Scotland's west coast.
Other options include the Pitlochry to Pitt of Tummel walk, which includes one of Scotland's most picturesque whisky distilleries, and the coastal path near the Creel seafood restaurant on South Ronaldsay, Orkney.
Ferry travellers can choose from a number of routes that enable exploration of Scotland, including P&O Ferries services to Troon and Cairnryan from Larne and a Stena Line crossing from Belfast to Stranraer.
NorthLink Ferries sails from Aberdeen to the ports of Lerwick on the Shetland Islands and Stromness on the Orkney Islands.
