New TV show looks at Brittany cuisine

New TV show looks at Brittany cuisine
04 September 2008
Seafood is one of the many treats people on ferry crossings to Brittany can look forward to
Many people may find themselves tempted to hop on cheap ferries to Brittany after seeing a new TV show exploring the culinary culture of the province.

James Martin's Brittany features a celebrity chef, who many people will recognise from shows including Ready Steady Cook and Saturday Kitchen, travelling around the region to sample the wealth of gastronomic delights on offer.

The TV chef revisits a number of villages that inspired him as a teenage cook, including Concarneau, Dinan, Lamballe and St Malo.

Along the way he meets up with friends who television audiences may also recognise, including Martin Blunos, Lawrence Keogh and Michelin-starred Daniel Galmiche.

The culinary experts visit Brittany's local markets, cideries, cheese factories and famous patisserie kitchens.

James Martin's Brittany is showing on the UKTV Food channel on weeknights at 9pm.

Brits eager to try the province's cuisine for themselves can catch cheap ferries to Brittany from ports including Poole, Portsmouth, Weymouth and Plymouth with operators such as Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries.
