Norfolkline has released a statement informing people affected by flight cancellations across the UK that it offers an alternative travel option between Scotland and Europe.
The company confirmed that its Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry route is continuing to operate, providing access to mainland Europe via Belgium.
Almost all air services across the UK are to remain grounded until Saturday (April 17th) as a result of a volcanic eruption in Iceland, which created a cloud of ash that has drifted into UK airspace.
Ferry companies and websites such as aferry.co.uk have seen a substantial increase in demand from travellers affected by the cancellations.
Several operators have released statements informing customers that their services are running normally, including
Irish Ferries, which is continuing to offer crossings between the UK and Ireland.
Customers can book
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin or arrange to travel on the company's Pembroke to Rosslare ferry route.
Authorities have been forced to cancel flights in and out of the UK as small particles of rock, glass and sand in the ash cloud could damage aircraft engines.
