Norfolkline's
ferries from Dover to Dunkerque are the best option for people who are hoping to take an affordable holiday in Europe this year, according to the Telegraph.
Sophie Butler published a guide in the newspaper for the many travellers planning to "swap the airport for the ferry terminal this summer".
She revealed that Norfolkline offers some of the cheapest return fares to France on its Dover to Dunkerque ferry route, particularly for customers who do not mind early-morning or late-night departures.
People looking for a "no-frills" journey with basic facilities and low prices were pointed towards
LD Lines.
The company offers
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre, Dover to Boulogne and Newhaven to Dieppe, as well as a Ramsgate to Ostend ferry service operated in collaboration with
TransEuropa Ferries.
Ms Butler recommended
Brittany Ferries for travellers who want a wide choice of routes, while those searching for a fun and memorable experience could consider
P&O Ferries' comedy cruises to Spain in May and June.
The company will operate
ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao until September this year.
