Norfolkline to take over Rosyth-Zeebrugge service | | | | 24 September 2008 | Norfolkline has announced that it will offer new ferry crossings from Rosyth in Scotland to the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium from spring 2009.
The service, which gives holidaymakers access to the Belgian tourist destination of Bruges, will offer three departures from each port every week.
A new vessel will be used to provide the ferry crossings, which is currently under construction in the Visentini shipyard in Italy.
According to Norfolkline, the ship will benefit the environment by consuming less fuel and emitting lower quantities of carbon dioxide, as well as diverting traffic from road to sea.
Kell Robdrup, managing director of the operator's ferry division, said: "We understand the importance of this service to both passengers and freight customers in Scotland and the continent.
"With the introduction of a brand new ferry, Norfolkline can provide a comfortable and environmentally friendly crossing."
Other services provided by Norfolkline include ferry crossings from Dover to Dunkerque and sailings from Liverpool to Belfast and Dublin. |
