Indeed, figures recently released by the Central Statistics Office have indicated that more and more people appear to have got on
ferries from Liverpool to Belfast, with a 7.9 per cent year-on-year increase in visitor arrivals in 2011.
Head of Great Britain at Tourism Ireland Vanessa Markey said that her organisation has a wide range of promotional campaigns underway in order to capitalise on this strength.
She added that other initiatives are also taking place in the other three of the province's top four markets - the US, France and Germany.
"In Great Britain alone, our autumn television campaign will reach up to 18.5 million potential holidaymakers highlighting what makes a holiday in Northern Ireland unique and truly memorable," Ms Markey commented, underlining the fact that a trip to the country offers great value and plenty to do.
