P&O Ferries has encouraged people planning winter sports getaways this year to make an early booking to benefit from some bargains.
The company pointed out that travel companies often launch promotions and special offers in popular resorts such as Val Thorens in south-east France in order to "kick-start the season".
Skiers and snowboarders heading to Europe for a winter holiday can start their journey by ferry and enjoy the freedom of travelling with their own car without baggage restrictions.
P&O revealed that it will be providing a choice of 23 daily departures on the
Dover to Calais ferry route during the winter season, offering low fares for a car full of passengers and ski equipment.
Brittany Ferries has also highlighted the benefit of travelling by sea for winter sports enthusiasts, pointing out that "you simply pack your car - as much as you can fit inside - and go".
The company operates
ferries from Portsmouth to Caen, St Malo and Roscoff, as well as a route linking Plymouth to Roscoff.
