P&O Ferries has encouraged wildlife enthusiasts to book their crossings to Spain soon for the opportunity to spot whales from the deck of the Pride of Bilbao.
The company will continue to operate
ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao until the end of September, meaning travellers have just a few months left to take part in one of its marine wildlife workshops.
Experts will be on hand during selected sailings to show passengers how to spot and identify various cetacean and seabird species.
This year, workshops will take place over the following periods: June 3rd-6th, June 12th-15th, June 18th-21st, July 3rd-6th, September 13th-16th, September 22nd-25th and September 25th-28th.
Participants will be able to look out for marine animals including the fin whale, common dolphin and beaked whale, as well as numerous types of bird.
When
P&O Ferries suspends its service to Bilbao, travellers will be able to reach Spain with
Brittany Ferries, which operates
ferries from Portsmouth to Santander.
A service is also available to the Spanish city from Plymouth.
