P&O Ferries has encouraged people who have an interest in fantasy and fairytales to consider a trip to the Efteling theme park in Holland.
Located in the town of Kaatsheuvel, Efteling is one of the oldest attractions of its kind in the world.
Writing in her blog for the ferry operator, Rosie Khdir revealed that the site evolved from a sports park into a nature park with the opening of its Fairytale Forest in 1952.
Families interested in trying out its rollercoasters and other modern amusements can take
ferries from Hull to Rotterdam with
P&O.
Upon arrival at the park, visitors can explore a number of different realms, one of which is home to characters such as Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and the Frog Prince.
The adventure area boasts fast rides such as the Python and the Mysterious Ship, while the alternative zone invites visitors to try out the white-water Pirana ride or venture into the Creepy Castle.
People planning a trip to the Netherlands can also take
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland with
Stena Line, while
DFDS Seaways provides daily
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam.
