P&O Ferries has encouraged music lovers to consider a break in France this month to check out some of the festivals that will be taking place over the August bank holiday weekend.
Forthcoming events include Retro Bethune, which the company describes as a "celebration of all things 50s and 60s".
The festival will take place at Bethune, an hour's drive from Calais, and will feature performances by bands at the Grand Place, Theatre de Poche and other venues.
Travellers can reach the region via the
Dover to Calais ferry route, which is served by regular
P&O crossings.
Ibiza Night will return to Le Touquet on August 28th, turning the town centre into a giant outdoor nightclub with top DJs providing the soundtrack for a night of partying.
The ferry operator also highlighted a concert by French performer Amel Bent that will take place at Place d'Armes in the centre of Calais on August 28th.
Holidaymakers planning a break in France this year also have the option of taking
ferries from Dover to Dunkerque with
Norfolkline, while
LD Lines offers
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre.
