P&O Ferries is inviting travellers to take an early look at its new ships being built to serve the
Dover to Calais ferry route.
The company has set up a dedicated website that is offering virtual tours of the vessels, which will be the largest ever to sail on the Dover Strait.
Spirit of Britain will be the first of the new ships to enter service in January 2011, followed by Spirit of France in September next year.
Passengers looking forward to sailing on the Dover to Calais ferry route in the future can take a virtual tour to learn more about how the vessels are being built.
The site will soon be extended to include virtual walkthroughs focusing on the ships' onboard facilities.
Simon Johnson,
P&O Ferries' sales and marketing director, said: "We've gone out of our way not just to preview the ships but to give some insight into how we approach ship building, from concept through to reality.
"I believe the approach we've taken is unique for ferries."
The Dover to Calais ferry route is also served by
SeaFrance.
