People with a passion for good food should consider paying a visit to Belgium this summer to check out the Antwerp Food Festival, according to
P&O Ferries.
The event will return for its fifth outing this year, running from August 18th to 21st.
It will provide a platform for experienced chefs - as well as young talents hoping to make their mark in the world of gourmet cuisine - to show off their skills with a selection of local and international dishes.
Writing in the
P&O Ferries blog, Karim Beerahee encouraged travellers to visit Antwerp for the opening of the festival on the evening of August 18th, with a market and other events marking the beginning of the celebrations from 18:00 local time until midnight.
Antwerp is also home to plenty of permanent attractions, such as the Rubenshuis art museum and various churches, cathedrals and historic buildings.
Travellers heading to Belgium can sail from Hull to Zeebrugge with P&O, while
TransEuropa Ferries operates a service from Ramsgate to Ostend.
